Dear people, typos are not funny simply because they are misspellings. They are only chuckleworthy if they alter the meaning of the post in a way which is amusing. The words "forwarrd" or "indidginous for somethong" might make you shake your head sadly but there is nothing intrinsically funny in them.
Poddy's reference to Amazonian Worriers, however is genuinely chuckleworthy (and I'm sure Poddy himself is having a quiet chuckle  over it.) because it  gives an unintended meaning to his post  which is both humorous and apt, considering the discussion it referred to.
Should I make a  similar slip-up, I would be delighted to see someone get a genuine laugh out of it.

Laxo. Mate. You're right. Typos and Spelling mistakes aren't intrinsically funny. They do become funny though when one person pokes fun at another person's errors, then makes other errors themselves in the process.

No they become ammunition for those wanting to 'get back' at the posters. They may give a sense of one-upmanship to the antagonists, but others just find it tedious.

"others" are not relevant.

"others" can ignore or post elsewhere or go to buggery for all anyone cares.

'others' are relevant.  You don't own this forum.
The chuckle post should be amusing to everyone that reads it, not just the combatants getting their jollies out of trying to prove they are more clever than the other.
Posting typos or spelling errors is petty, not amusing, unless the error changes the meaning of the post, as per Laxadantos example.

"Others" have no relevance unless they are contributing posters to this forum.

If "others" as in, lurkers that like to watch, are offended... tuff titties.

An Australian over on CTTP has put up a thread making fun of Australia.

One of the American posters asks: "who's julia, DB? i seem to remember a discussion on CS about a lady in the government nobody liked, is that her?"

Nor do you own it.

The is a 'special' type of thread, why do you  want to ruin it?

You last reply sounds like it was posted by a feral youth.
